Catering by Reef Caterers
The Heritage Estate developers have appointed Reef Caterers to offer a healthy eating option to residents.
Reef Caterers was established in 1996 with the primary objective to provide quality catering services to the healthcare and retirement sectors in and around Gauteng.
The Directors and Senior Management have extensive experience in their field of expertise. They are currently responsible for the catering management of a wide portfolio of contracts in South Africa and Namibia.
Reef Caterers has a hands-on approach and senior management are directly involved in the day to day running of all operations. Together with their specialist support services and extensive training facilities they are in an excellent position to offer Heritage Estate a quality catering service to the residents.
The team at Heritage Estate initially will be made up of an Operations Manager and a Chef. The menus are subject to available seasonal fresh produce and resident input as to selecting options. Their dieticians will have regular contact with the residents and understand the diverse dietary and nutritional needs. Together with senior management they will develop menus specific to Heritage Estate residents’ requirements and preferences. The operations manager will undertake regular meetings with the Heritage Estate team, and the Reef dietician will hold regular site visit to ensure quality.
In order to alleviate menu fatigue – monthly promotions i.e.: Mothers Days, Spring Day etc. will take place and residents’ input on desired themes are welcomed. All functions and special menus are quoted for on an ad hoc basis and negotiated at the time with the relevant function organizer. 48-hour notice is required for the booking of any function catering, that will be applied once the facilities at Heritage House and the Pavilion are operational.
Residents are not obliged to take up a number of meals a month though packages will be offered.
Reef Caterers will offer take-away light lunches and hot dinners from The Pavilion. Residents can discuss their meal requirements directly with Chef Thabo, who will work directly with Marius van der Merwe, the Operations Manager a qualified chef with more than 22 years’ experience
